Drone Photography at Scunthorpe Port – Industrial Site Shoot for BarrEtt Steel

Back to work with our gloves on — quite literally. On a bitterly cold January day, we were on location at Scunthorpe Port, part of the PD Ports group, commissioned to carry out a drone photography job for Barrett Steel. They’re a long-standing client of our sister company Eastwood Media, and this time we were brought in to photograph a brand new building on their site.

Flying the DJI Mavic 3, we captured a full set of high-resolution stills to showcase the construction from every angle. The job might have looked simple from the outside, but like all industrial locations, it came with its own set of permissions and paperwork. We worked with PD Ports to secure the necessary flight permits ahead of the shoot — a vital step whenever operating near active infrastructure.

We spent a good hour on site, taking advantage of the clear winter light and finding the best angles to highlight the structure’s position within the port landscape. Our new fingerless gloves came in handy too — keeping our hands just warm enough to keep flying!

Photos delivered from site direct to the client in Rotherham using our new Starlink satellite internet uplink.

If you’re looking for professional drone photography of industrial buildings, warehouses, or construction sites, get in touch. We’re used to handling the permissions and logistics — so you don’t have to.
