Car Tracking and Drone Filming on the Iconic North Wales Driving Roads

Out on the road again — this time close to home on the legendary driving routes of North Wales, filming a beautifully reimagined Land Rover for Mahker.

We had the full Eastwood Drones team on this one, capturing high-speed tracking shots and dynamic aerials along some of the region’s most scenic and technically demanding tarmac. The backdrop? Rolling hills, dramatic switchbacks, and wide-open views — the kind of setting that makes North Wales a dream for car filming.

It was also a milestone for our latest piece of kit: the Eastwood car tracking rig, freshly built and out on its first job. Mounted to our fully electric Jaguar I-PACE, the system uses the DJI Ronin 4D with complete control from inside the vehicle, allowing us to shoot smooth, stabilised footage with full pan and tilt functionality. The rig performed flawlessly — agile enough for tight turns, stable enough for high-speed passes, and totally silent on location.

In the skies, we flew the DJI Inspire 3, delivering precise dual-operator drone footage that tracked the Land Rover across ridgelines and valleys. The combination of aerial and ground movement helped us create a seamless visual narrative that shows off both the vehicle and the landscape.

From drones to tracking cars, this is what we live for — and what we do best. If you’re planning an automotive shoot and want to capture North Wales in full motion, drop us a line.
