Drone Filming Newcastle’s New Year’s Eve Laser Show – A Night to Remember

New Year’s Eve, freezing cold, and up north — the perfect way to end the year. Chris and Ben were on dual operator duties, flying the DJI Inspire 3 through the icy air above Newcastle, capturing the city’s New Year’s Eve celebrations in all their glory.

We were working for Seb Lee, the award-winning laser light artist, filming his spectacular show from the skies. The city was lit up with a dynamic blend of lasers, projections and celebratory atmosphere — and our brief was to capture it all for a short promo video showcasing the event.

Despite the sub-zero temperatures and the usual challenges of night flying in urban environments, we got it done with precision and style. The Inspire 3 handled the conditions flawlessly, and the footage really shows off what we do best — controlled, cinematic aerial filming in challenging conditions.

This wasn’t just another firework display — it was a carefully designed light experience, and it deserved to be captured by a team who understands both the creative and technical demands of event drone filming.

Whether it’s New Year’s Eve, festival coverage, or a live event with complex visuals, we’ve got the gear and the experience to shoot it properly. If your next project needs that kind of coverage, drop us a message and let’s talk.
