Drone Filming for Avanti West Coast Along the North Wales Main Line

Eastwood Drones were commissioned to film a brand-new Avanti West Coast train travelling the full stretch of the North Wales main line, from Chester to Holyhead, for a new television commercial. The brief was ambitious—track the train across one of the UK’s most scenic rail routes using both wide cinematic shots and close tracking footage.

With the full team on the ground, we used the DJI Inspire 3 and DJI Mavic 3 to capture the train weaving through dramatic coastal backdrops, ancient bridges, and busy stations. One of the highlights was filming the train pulling in and out of Conwy Station, just steps from the iconic Conwy Castle—a real showcase of how our aerial filming blends modern transport with historic landmarks.
