Rally Car Testing Filmed by Drone at Sweet Lamb, Mid Wales

Sweet Lamb Rally Complex in Mid Wales is about as iconic as it gets for UK rallying. On 10th November, the full Eastwood Drones team was out on the hills — Chris, Ben and Gavin working together to capture high-speed testing footage for crews preparing to take on the legendary RAC Rally.

Armed with our full fleet, including the DJI Inspire 3 and multiple Mavic 3 drones, we were tasked with creating cinematic footage for promotional content and driver review. From tracking wide drifts across open gravel to close-up manoeuvres through the tightest forest sections, it was a full day of intense, dynamic drone work — the kind we love most.

With Gavin handling camera operation on the Inspire 3, and Ben and Chris rotating through flying duties, we were able to get everything we needed safely, smoothly, and in 6K ProRes. The rugged terrain and unpredictable light made this a great test of both kit and crew, but it’s exactly the kind of job where our experience in automotive filming and deep knowledge of professional drone equipment shine through.
